In 1936, after Gandhiji left the Gandhi Ashram, Maria Montessori came to the Gandhi Ashram to fulfill her promise of opening a Montessori School in Gandhi's Ashram. Decades later it stopped functioning and then became totally delapidated. With the blessings of many it has been given a rebirth so that our children can benefit once again.
